Choosing a Wedding Video and Wedding Photography Package

Congratulations, you are looking forward to planning for your wedding day: the clothes you’ll be wearing, the meals, the wedding entourage, the ring and the vows but there is one essential feature for the success of your wedding day.

That is the photographer you appoint to capture the memories of your wedding day on film so that you can view them in the future. Whether you just want basic wedding photographs or a complete wedding video and wedding photography package it pays to choose wisely.

Take great care in selecting an experienced wedding photographer for your special day. Not only must they be skilled, it is important that he or she is someone you feel comfortable working with and has a top quality portfolio. When you have made your choice of photographer you need to choose a suitable wedding photography package.

If outlay is an issue a basic package probably means just a lone photographer covering the wedding scene and taking pictures all through the full wedding event. Lower cost wedding photography packages will only provide you with the basic pictures which you usually see after a wedding. For your money you should expect to receive in the order of forty to fifty wedding pictures mounted inside a pretty photograph album.

The basic wedding photo package doesn’t consist of much in the way of luxury services. It will commonly mean photos of the couple kissing after exchanging vows and exchanging rings, cutting the wedding cake together and the group shots of friends and family which is standard fare for most weddings.

This basic wedding photography package is fairly economical but it’s a good idea to supplement it by asking your guests to fetch their own cameras to take more photographs. Obviously a higher priced wedding photography package will have more photographers on hand on your wedding day so you will have many more photographs taken.

In comparison to the straightforward wedding photography service which can only supply you with few prints and fewer photographers on your wedding day, a high end service should offer a multimedia video record of your special occasion with a couple of photographers and a videographer as well.

A higher-priced package can even add in prenuptial or engagement pictures taken weeks or months before your wedding day. This kind of wedding photography package can even include a slide show of the pictures to be shown during the reception. To offer even more memories of the special day some photographers will take photos of events occurring at the same time.

As already noted, a videographer ought to be included in a better-quality package so there’s no need for you to look for someone else to do this separately.

Overall a top-drawer wedding video and wedding photography package will provide everything the mid-priced package can and a lot more besides. If your wedding budget is large enough then, by and large, this is the best selection.

It’s like the old saying: you get what you pay for and lasting memories of your wedding day are well worth that little bit extra.

Wedding Photography Packages – Understanding How to Choose

As you begin looking into the various wedding photography packages available, you will likely begin to feel overwhelmed. That’s typical when couples are planning their wedding. With everything there is to do, the photographer is often the one professional that you expect to know what you want. However, if you don’t discuss your needs with the photographer he or she will likely not meet your needs and leave you upset after the wedding. Here are some of the most popular wedding photography packages.

Many future newly weds decide to go with wedding photography packages that are going to give them the most memories for the least amount of money. However, if you are not having a traditional wedding you might not want to purchase a package that is for 9 hours. A smaller and less costly package for 6 or 7 hours might better meet your needs.

First, consider your finances before looking into the various packages offered by the photographer you are choosing. Stick to your predetermined budget as much as humanly possible. Take into consideration the type of wedding you are having as well as the number of guests you will have witnessing your special day.

These are all factors that will be involved in the time you should hire a photographer. For smaller and more intimate weddings, you will not need to take advantage of the larger wedding photography packages. Something smaller, such as a 6 hour package should be sufficient.

Think about the type of photos you want taken. For example, do you want pictures of the bride getting dressed, maybe a few special photos of the bride and groom posed almost as though they are peeking through a door to see each other or maybe special photos of the grandparents of the bride and groom. Will there be a few location changes for pictures etc. Travel time should also be considered when you are hiring your photographer and choosing your wedding photography package.

If you are going to have pictures taken at a house and then travel for 30 minutes to the church and travel another 30 minutes to the reception hall. You already are looking at a decent amount of travel time when photos will not be taken. You also need to consider the extras you would like included for your package.

Depending on your particular photographer, you should be able to order a photo album, a few larger sized wedding photos and even have your wedding photos put on a DVD for your convenience. If any of these options are something you would like included in your wedding photo package you should discuss your needs with the photographer. Wedding photography packages vary as much as the photographers do. You just have to know what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it.

How Proper Maintenance Extends Your Air Conditioner’s Service Life

In many parts of the world, air conditioning is more of a necessity than a luxury. Keeping indoor spaces cooled to a comfortable temperature isn’t always easy, and we should have plenty of respect for the equipment that makes it possible. In order to get a long and reliable life out of your air conditioner, you should operate it in an intelligent manner. This means making sensible temperature choices and giving your unit the regular maintenance it needs. Here are some details.

* One quick maintenance task that requires no specialized expertise whatsoever is verifying that all of your external air conditioning equipment is drawing air properly. Check fans and condensers for obstructions that might be caused by loose yard debris. Make a habit of keeping the area around your A/C equipment free of clutter.

* This clearing of your external equipment should extend to keeping your plants in check. You might not see any threat in a stalk of grass that’s starting to poke into your condenser unit, but a few week’s worth of growth can turn a non-issue into a serious problem. Trim back all of the vegetation in the area, and refrain from planting trees or shrubs close to your units if at all possible.

* Your A/C units need to be kept secure against the possible intrusion of wild or feral animals. Air conditioners make tempting dens for a variety of different creatures, but the combination of live animals with electricity and moving equipment is a dangerous one. Make sure that your units’ covers and grilles are all secure against rats and other animals. Patch any holes as soon as you spot them.

* Replace the blower filters in your A/C system at least twice a year. If your system has a re-usable filter, clean it according to the manufacturer’s directions. Keep in mind that you may need to clean or replace your filter more frequently if there is a lot of dust in the air.

* Air conditioning intakes should be cleaned with bleach. This should be done at roughly three-month intervals. This prevents mold from growing and eliminates unpleasant odors and potential clogs.

* Use a sturdy brush to clean accumulated dust and debris off the evaporator coil. This job is best performed once a year before the start of the cooling season.

* Prior to the main cooling season, turn your air conditioner on full blast. Confirm that it’s producing cold air and listen carefully for rattling, banging, or other unusual sounds. Catching a potential problem early and dealing with it before your A/C is really needed will typically be the most cost-effective way to keep it running properly.

A good air conditioning system is a significant investment. It’s definitely worth a little bit of your time to see that your air conditioner gets the maintenance it needs. Being conscientious about caring for your air conditioner also helps to keep its operating costs down, saving you significant amounts of money in the long run. Basic cleaning and maintenance will ensure that your air conditioner continues to pump out cold air for many years to come.

The Beauty of a Properly-Functioning AC System

There is something beautiful about an air conditioning system that works properly. You get up day after day and it is pumping cool air through vents in every room of your home. You don’t wake up sticky with sweat and you don’t wake up shivering. You tell the system what temperature you want your home to remain at and the system does all the work for you.

This only happens when you strike the perfect balance between working the system too hard and not allowing it to work too little. It isn’t difficult to strike this balance if you follow one simple rule given below.

Don’t Make it work too Hard

Your air conditioning system should never be forced to work too hard. It should work hard enough to keep your home at the perfect temperature, but it should not be running nonstop around the clock. It should not be working double time because its filter is old and dirty. It should never be forced to suck air through clogs or dirty vents.

Regular aircon servicing is the only way to ensure your system is not working too hard. Professional air con services will keep the vents clean, make sure the filters are fresh and clean, and ensure there are no clogs that may force the system to work overtime. They prevent your system from working too hard so it lasts you years longer and functions better on a day-to-day basis.

Don’t Let it Work too Little

If your air conditioning system is not properly maintained it may slack off. It may decide that almost your desired temperature is good enough and it may take a nap rather than pumping more air. It may throw filth out the vents rather than fresh, cold air. It may decide it’s too good to work in the dirty, neglected vents it is being offered.

The only way to prevent this is to use professional air con services in your area. While making sure your system doesn’t have to work too hard, aircon servicing will simultaneously motivate the system to work as hard as it should to keep your home to that perfect temperature you require. Since the vents are clean and everything is well cared for, the system will not put up a fight when it comes time to pulling down the temperature in your home.

Striking the Perfect Balance: One Simple Rule

There is just one simple rule to striking that perfect balance where your system works hard, but not too hard. This rule is that you hire aircon servicing one time every year. If you have a heating system connecting into your air system you may want to have it serviced once a year as well, but professional air con services should be scheduled to enter your home and check out your system at least one time every year.

This is a very simple rule. You just have to schedule the appointment, mark it on the calendar, and open the door when the day arrives. For that little bit of effort your aircon system will work on your behalf the rest of the year. It won’t work too hard, but it will work just hard enough to keep your home cook and refreshing.

What to Expect From an Aircon Servicing

You have scheduled with a local company to have your aircon system serviced, or plan to do so in the very near future. The problem is you may not be exactly sure what to expect when they show up at your home. If you have never done this before, you may be nervous. The good news is that you have very little to worry about as long as the company you called was reputable in your community.

Greeting & Getting Started

When the aircon service crew arrives at your home, it might be one person or more. Typically, you will just have one or two people show up for a basic servicing. If problems are found that need more substantial work, then you may have a larger crew show up to get the work done quickly. For this first meeting, expect a single person or perhaps a two person team. Greet them at the door just as you would a friend coming into your home.

Once inside, they will head immediately to your aircon system. You should voice any concerns that you have right away, so they can look for answers or check for problems if needed. You don’t want them to have to go back and check again after they have already done their job. Get it all out in the air right when they come in the door.

Clearing Away

You can trust a reputable service to do their job without being monitored. You can get something done around the home while they are looking over your aircon system. They will come to you and voice any concerns or fill you in on anything they find during the process. If everything goes smoothly and there are no problems found, then you will likely just be approached at the end of the service session.
Ending the Session

Once the servicing has been completed, you will be notified of any problems found with the system. You will be informed of what needs to be done next and may be advised on a time frame for having additional check-ups or other maintenance duties for your system. It is important to pay attention to what is being said as it could impact services that you might pay for in the future.

Listen to all recommendations from the service team, but remember that you do not have to accept any repairs or future services. If you trust the service and know that they have a reputation for being honest, then you should probably just follow their recommendations. If they warn that a part needs replaced, it is crucial that you go ahead and replace it. Once you need to turn the system on and start using it during hot weather, the service provider will be very busy with repair calls and may take longer to come out and repair your system.

If you are concerned with the cost of replacement parts, consider the cost of a completely system break down on a hot summer day. In most cases, you are getting off cheap by just replacing the part when it is first found to be in need of replacement. You save tons of time as well, since you don’t have to schedule a rush repair when the part finally gives out completely.

Aircon Will Keep Your Home Cool and Comfortable During Those Hot Summer Days

Summers can be unbearable sometimes in some of the hotter regions, so having an air conditioner in good working order is imperative. An airconair conditioning unit can keep your home cool efficiently.

The wall mounted unit has a cooling capacity of 9,000 BTU per hour to 24,000 BTU/HR. It usually costs S$50.00 for a unit. The price has recently been lowered to S$30.00. The ceiling/cassette units have a cooling capacity of 18,000 to 45,000 BTU/hour. The price of the aircon ceiling/cassette unit was usually S$60.00, but is available at this time for S$50.00. Both units will do a good job at cooling, just choose the one you need depending on the size of the area that will be cooled.

Once you have chosen the cooling unit you desire and have it installed, you will be refreshingly cooler and be able to escape the hot weather months of the outdoors. Should you find that your unit needs servicing, you will be glad to know that aircon technicians are conveniently available for any troubleshooting or repair that needs to be done. An emergency service is offered if you should have trouble with the unit cooling properly, experience any water leakage from the unit or if it stops working altogether. there is an emergency service number to call if any of the above issues arise, so you can get help to fix your problem quickly.

Having a specialized aircon contractor come into your home and evaluate the size and number of units that will best serve you is what their service is all about. They will make practical suggestions to you and help you to understand how the unit will keep your home cool and what expenses will be involved with installation. The contractor will also explain exactly how it will be installed. After installation, you will have a nice cool environment in which to relax during the hot days.

When And How to Choose A Makeup Artist

Makeup artists are the magicians who can transform your face from “Nay” to “Yay” with their sleight of hand. Their dexterity in highlighting your beautiful features and enhancing the visual appeal of your face is something to hold in awe. While it is true that any conscious person can handle fixing up their faces on their own, there are some situations that demand professional intervention. This article will take you on a walkthrough of when and how to choose a makeup artist.

When do you need to hire a makeup artist?

Everyday business requires just little makeup, which is more or less basic when you are attending a casual gathering. Some amount of foundation to even out your skin tone, a basic eyeliner outline, a nude eyeshadow and some lipstick usually does the trick. However, for the events listed under, since they demand dressing up considerably, you need a professional makeup artist to make you look extra gorgeous and get that wow factor rolling for you:

• Weddings – whether it be your own or one of your friend’s, weddings are a special event. Not only do you need to pick out a dress very carefully, but you also need a makeup artist to help you look your best.

• Company dinners – there are many working women around the globe who are required to attend company dinners and other celebrations, where many important people are invited. Hiring a makeup artist for these events will ensure you don’t overdo things yourself. A professional yet fit-for-dinner look can be easily had with a little assistance from a professional.

• Galas – Many of us are part of greater causes and socially responsible activities. Gala dinners are usually held for members, sponsors and clients, making them a sensitive platform. Getting the right look becomes important, and for an amateur, things can easily get out of hand during makeup.

How to hire a makeup artist

There are so many makeup artists out there, but not all of them are professionals. Here are a few things you can consider to help you hire the right one.

• Interview – this is the best way to find out how much an artist knows about what he/she is doing. Makeup techniques should be their second nature. They should know which palette would suit your skin tone and eye color, for starters.

• Tools – ask about the tools the artist uses. Sometimes, skill allows them to create better results with basic tools. Swanky is not always good – especially because the artist who does not have much skill will try to cover it up with a lot of automated stuff.

• Products – no one knows your skin better than yourself. Ensure that the artist agrees to using products of your preference on your skin – make sure he/she has them.

Professional Makeup Artists Not Just For Celebrities: How to Choose One

Liz Taylor has always had them, and so do the new crop of film femmes. In fact they rarely go anywhere without them. They are personal makeup artists. And they are the latest Hollywood elite to come along. In fact many are upstaging the personalities signing their paycheques. Five years ago, few people knew the name Kevyn Aucoin, the famous artist to the stars who passed away in 2002. But now, you often hear either a name like Kevyn’s, or star artists Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier, who have their own cosmetic lines, or you witness a celebrity thank their makeup artist during awards broadcasts–either way, we are getting the message loud and clear that professional artists are lurking behind the famous faces we dream of having.

Most women can transform themselves with the flick of a well-directed makeup brush. And they can get professional help. In fact, just “internet” your way to “google”, type in makeup artist and you are on your way. Freelance makeup artists who come directly to your home abound, not just in major city centres but all over now. The training and hatching of seedling artists is on the rise big time, as the nation’s focus on beauty continues to escalate.

Maybe you’ve been so busy planning your hair, nails, massages, waxing, and facial appointments to think of how a makeup artist can add the icing to your beauty cake, but why all the fuss if you are left with a squeaky clean but blank canvas? Think about how an artist can turn your entire look around with a specialized makeup lesson tailored just for you. No time to master the skill for ongoing “do-it-yourself” applications? Then have an artist on speed-dial for those dinner parties, client meetings or impromptu get-togethers. You just need to know where to find them and how to know if they are worth their weight in lipstick.

Not all artists are created equal. To find an artist to come to you, follow a few key guidelines. Find someone who is trained by a reputable school or program known for specializing in the art of makeup not cosmetics sales. Watch out for artists who’ve been trained to sell products and who only use one line of makeup on you. You’ll be up against a big sales pitch to drop a lot of cash on products you end up shelving later because you break-out or your face rejects the horrific colour choices. Also ask to see photos of an artist’s work–preferably pictures from professional photographers who are fussy about the artists they work with. Expect the artist to speak with you before your appointment about everything that will make your session together successful–skin care, your colouring, your makeup preferences, the products and shades you currently use, your skin condition, the reason for getting together and what you want to get out of the makeover.

Beyond makeup, a great makeup artist doesn’t just show you where the colour goes. She looks at you and sees the shape of your face and how to showcase its features–she can tell you how to shade and highlight areas to make them stand out or disappear, how to shape your brows to suit your face or to make your eyes seem further apart or closer together, how to line your lips to reshape and balance their look, and more. A great makeup artist also looks at a clean face and sees the finished product. The transformations can be theatrical.

How To Hire A Professional Makeup Artist For Your Wedding Or Private Event

Hiring a makeup artist to come on location for weddings or special events has become the latest addition to wedding services.

Most women have a trusted stylist they see on a regular basis. On occasion when styling is only needed and their regular stylist is unavailable, they will usually let someone else style their hair. As for makeup it is a different story. Most women who are not public figures or celebrities do not have a personal professional makeup artist in their rolodex. When a special occasion arises, most do not have a clue on where to find one or even the process in hiring one. They began to ask around or search the internet, or find themselves at a cosmetic counter where they may leave with products they did not want in the first place. In the beauty industry, new makeup artists emerge everyday. Some work at cosmetic counters, some sell for cosmetic lines and others who work in Fashion and Entertainment. Then you have the more extreme artist that work in Special effects, creating monsters and transforming stars into some our most hated Villains and loveable characters. Oh I forgot the artist who did nice makeup on their sister for prom who now is a makeup artist.

There is a major difference in finding someone to do your makeup, and booking a professional makeup artist. Most professional makeup artist have gone to school and most are licensed esthetician or facial specialist. Some makeup artist started from the ground up working for years with hands on training servicing the public. Brides and private events are not their only clients. They make a living without any side jobs working in areas of production, film, television, print and runway. They understand skin types and facial bone structure. They know the proper sanitation and sterilization for their tools, how to prevent contamination of there products, and how not to transfer germs from one client to another. They understand the importance of facial contouring and shading which is used to change eye shapes, correct noses, create cheeks bones etc… They understand skin tones and usage of the right color pigmentation that will match your complexion on the spot, without error, no matter how light or dark your skin may be.

When a professional makeup artist arrives, their main concern will not be to sell you products. If they sell a product that you want to buy, then that is just business and your happy. However, the goal will be to give you a perfect even complexion while enhancing your best features and hiding imperfection. Remember, shopping for a makeup artist with the cheapest price is not a good idea. Good quality makeup and talent cost. The cheaper the price, the cheaper the products and skill quality, you will get what you pay for. Your search should be base on the best artist with the best work that can do the job, even if you have to save for it. A good photo is timeless, look at the makeup in old photo’s of Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayward, Elizabeth Taylor timeless or what? Do your home work and hire smart. Check credentials; ask if they carry a professional license to perform the services you will need. A licensed hair stylist will either be a full cosmetologist, or carry some sort of license to touch your hair. Hiring a licensed professional protects you, and secures you that the person you’re hiring has the proper training and skills. Would you hire an unlicensed plastic surgeon? No, you check credentials, years of experiences and you want to see a lot of work they have done in the past.

Check the States Department of Business and Professional regulations to search the license number or name of the person you’re hiring.
In the State of Florida it is Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations.

Make them back up the years of experience they are claiming and charging you for. Ask questions; ask to see their work and more work. Trials for hair styling are essential and should be for both client and artist to collaborate. Trials for makeup should be your choice to do and not a suggestion from the artist. A professional artist does not need a trial to do beauty makeup. In production we can not do trials, we are presented with ideas and it is our job as the artist to produce. Do not get caught up in advertisement words, the proof is in the WORK! A makeup artist who has had been in the industry for years, licensed or not, will have a portfolio and a website filled with there actual work (not bought stock photo’s). When a makeup artist is consider for a job any where else in this profession, without the proper creativity, skills, license, resume and images to show, they will not be hired.

Freelance Makeup Artist – The Basics

I know you are anxious to begin working as a freelance makeup artist, but just in case you don’t have the funds to attend school right now, you can still gain useful knowledge and experience. I’ve been working as a freelance makeup artist for about 5 years now, and even though it’s hard work, I get to meet lots of different people and attend beautiful weddings. The most rewarding part for me is being able to “transform” the look of my clients. I just love it when they get excited and start smiling at the results.

The advice you receive from this article will help you get a descent start in getting the products you need, some clients to put in your chair, and to help you be more professional. Don’t forget there is more than one way to gain the experience you need, and I’m presenting some ideas and lessons that have helped me along the way.

When I first started I remember reading books about makeup/beauty. What helped me was getting books with color pictures to demonstrate the techniques, and with detailed writing. Some books contain content that is very vague, so it’s difficult to tell what is being done to the model’s face, which is why detail is so important. Also, try to be diverse about the types of books you read. I read books about mature beauty, Asian beauty, and Latina beauty because I wanted to be aware of certain concerns those groups may have. Great places to get books are from online bookstores and the local library.

If you have the extra funds I totally recommend attending a seminar from a professional (or a celebrity) makeup artist. This is a great opportunity to help you network with other freelance makeup artists, and to see the makeup application process through someone else’s eyes. It will help you improve your own work because you will receive some fresh ideas and information about great cosmetic products that are on the market.

Some items that you will need before getting started as a freelance makeup artist are a makeup case, makeup brushes, sample testers, a director’s chair, and makeup of course. A great place to purchase these items would be Ebay, or your local beauty supply. The makeup case I use has wheels with an extended handle, and fold-out compartments. I’ve used it for all of my assignments, and I’ve had no problems traveling with it. In regards to makeup brushes, make sure you opt for a set that is not too expensive, and will last a while – preferably sable or squirrel. Some examples of sample testers are individual mascara wands, lipstick applicators, and spatulas. These are so important to have because you want to prevent the transfer of bacteria from one client to the next. Pencil sharpeners are essential too for lip and eyeliners. Use it to shave off the used portion after dealing with each client.

You will use a director’s chair when seating your clients. I’m tall, so I find it incredibly useful. It’s also easy to fold and place in the trunk of my car. When collecting makeup, always start with basic, very diverse shades and colors. This will help in case you’re ever in a situation where you have to mix two different colors to get the desired color you need. The brand you use is up to you, but make sure you have the basics.

Some other good pointers would be to start with family and friends first. When you’re first starting out, you’re going to make mistakes, so it’s easier to use people who are close to you as your guinea pigs. They’re a lot less critical, and I’m sure they’ll make recommendations on how you can improve. Also, expose yourself to other artists that have different strengths. I say this because every freelance makeup artist has a different interpretation of what a certain look should be. I’ve known makeup artists that were wonderful at dramatic makeup, stage makeup, and bridal makeup. The more you learn from different people, the more diverse your techniques will be, which will improve your ability.

Last, but certainly not least, be professional. If you have a scheduled assignment, please be on time. Know that the bulk of your business will come from referrals, so you want to leave a good impression with your clients. If you have a client that is getting married and you have to work on location, dress appropriately for the wedding. Always wear an outfit that is classy, but that you can easily move around in. I tend to do a lot of walking when I’m on location, so it helps that my clothes are not restrictive. Don’t forget to bring your business cards with you to every event. Always pass them out so that others will have your information and can contact you if they need anything. Have fun and good luck on your glamorous journey!
